Baldwinsville Comes ALL IN for NWFY

Enthusiastic Community Support for Campaign to Complete New Y

Tom and Lisa TalletThe generosity of the Baldwinsville community for the Northwest Family YMCA has been overwhelming. The facility opened its doors on June 8th and the campaign to complete all phases of construction is in its final stages. Baldwinsville resident and campaign co-chair Cindy Dowd Greene credits the community for showing enormous support for the new Y. “We are so grateful to all of our supporters for their generous response to our ALL IN campaign, said Dowd Greene. Every donation helps us get closer to our final goal. The community-wide support for this valuable resource is so important to its successful completion.”

The campaign received a huge boost this month from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation. The Oswego-based Shineman Foundation awarded a matching grant to the campaign for the Baldwinsville YMCA. In response to the Shineman challenge, beginning August 1, all new gifts to the campaign will be matched 1 to 1 up to $200,000.

The community is invited to explore the Northwest Family YMCA’s many programs offered in its Fall 2015 Program Guide available now. Members can sign up for visual arts classes, performance arts workshops, aquatics classes, academic tutoring and so much more. Registration is available at all Y branches and online at www.syracuse.ymca.org/northwest.

For more information on how members of the community can show their support through a gift to the ALL IN campaign, visit www.NWFY.org or call Elizabeth Quilter, Chief Development Officer for the YMCA of Greater Syracuse, at 315-530-5979.
