Y Boilermaker Team Raises Over $3,000

The Y thanks the team of people who came together to run the Boilermaker in Utica, NY in support of the YMCA of Greater Syracuse and the One Fund of Boston. The Boilermaker is one of the top road races in the world. This year, demand to enter the race was so great that it reached its 14,000 capacity in just three days.

The Boilermaker provided the YMCA of Greater Syracuse with charity bibs into the race as a way to raise funding in support of our activities. Following the tragedy at the Boston Marathon, it was decided that half of the proceeds received from the Boilermaker event would be donated to the One Fund Boston to support victims of the bombing.

As Ashley Lundquist shared, one of the Y runners, "Choosing this charity to run for is an absolutely perfect fit for me, because I get to do something that I love to do and participate in an already unifying community event, with both runners and non-runners being able to participate in their own way . . . I would like to thank the YMCA and the Boilermaker for giving me the opportunity to allow me to participate in the charity bib program!"

Thank you to our Y runners who made raised more than $3,000 in support of the YMCA of Greater Syracuse and the One Fund of Boston:
