The Green Lakes Triathlon and Green Lakes 7@7 race are run entirely by volunteers, meaning that 100% of the money raised supports the charitable work of the YMCA, particularly LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and the Y's other free programs for cancer survivors.
THE TRI FOR A STRONGER COMMUNITY
2015 Green Lakes sprint Triathlon
June 13, 2015 is your day to swim, bike and run in one of the longest running, most picturesque triathlons in the United States. Compete in the YMCA of Greater Syracuse's Green Lakes Triathlon and you will:
- SWIM 1/2 mile in striking the blue-green waters of Green Lake, which was dug by mile-high glacial waterfalls 15,000 years ago
- BIKE 20 km through hilly Green Lakes State Park and along mostly flat country roads
- RUN 5km on a scenic path, with upland forests on your left and two meromictic lakes on your right
Our triathlon celebrates its 36th year in 2015. Thanks to all the competitors and volunteers who helped make the 2014 Green Lakes Triathlon a great success. We have results and photos to show you.
