While participation in team games like basketball and kickball is fun, so is living a long and healthy life! The Wellness Challenge will offer weekly meetings focusing on everything from healthy eating to staying on track and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Q: What is the correlation between my participation in the wellness challenge and helping my company win?
A: By participating, you'll earn points for your team. Your YMCA liaison can help you to understand your options to assist you in your wellness goals and help your company accumulate points based on your participation.
Q: How can I reach my liaison?
A: In addition to the onsite registration where questions can be addressed in person, you may email or call your branch representative with additional questions.
Q: I haven't exercised in years and it will be too uncomfortable to start, especially all alone.
A: Programs at the Y are designed to support and empower people who are beginning their journey of healthy living. Have your co-workers join you for more winning points and greater success!
Q: I see there is an option for metrics at onsite registration as well as inside the YMCA. Do I have to do this?
A: Metrics are not required, but are encouraged as a way for you to measure your success.
Q: Will my individual results be shared?
A: No, HIPAA requires that your name and identifying data not be disclosed to your employer.
Q: Do I get a personal trainer?
A: Personal trainers are not included in employer pricing but we will be posting CWOWs (corporate workouts of the week) for you to use if you are already familiar with physical activity and just need something new.
Q: What if I can't make the metrics on registration day?
A: Your branch liaison can help you set one up within a YMCA branch. Just make sure your post metrics are done at the same Y to ensure effective measurement results.
Q: How do we win the weight loss challenge?
A: The weight loss challenge is an individual and personal outcome. The Y has designed the wellness challenge to promote weight loss and at the end of the games, we will recognize the company that has the most accumulated pounds lost.
Q: How can my company win the wellness challenge?
A: The more participation from your company in the above activities, the more points your company will earn.
